Seriously, this has got to be one of the best Dim Sum experience I had. Maybe everything felt right at that moment.
You know right? There are times you just feel blah…meh…so so. Then things you eat also blah nia. Could be because I’m hungry. So I better not setup any expectations incase you eat already find it a so so nia. I will be paiseh.
Presenting my order of Imperial Treasure Nan Bei Restaurant Dim Sum at Tampines 1.
I tell you, this Siew Mai // Pork + Shrimp Dumpling is like, wah lau…supergood can?!
Shrimp Dumpling // Har Kau ah Har Kau…oh how can I have only 1 basket of Har Kau. Miss GB no like prawn. That’s why only 1 basket.
The moment I put the Har Kau in the mouth. The skin is like flower petal – thin! Satisfaction.
Highlight of the session got to be this 流沙包 Lui Sha Bao – Steam Custard Bun // Egg Custard + Salted Egg Yolk. I tell you the quality of this bun is Mou Tak Teng* ah!
The custard oozes out creamy golden yellow lava. Super delicious looking, taste is heavenly. It’s not overly extravagant, just decent good Custard bun. Nothing special, not like how people want things to be more fanciful. When you taste it, it hits home. That bun warms my heart man.
Imperial Treasure is not very strong in their Xiao Long Bao // Soup Pork Dumplings. Can skip this item.
Shrimp Vermicelli Rice Roll is somehow a good closure for my Dim Sum cravings. When you just want to have a good time Dim Summing. Hee…
Finally, Yong Chow Fried Rice / Yang Zhou Fried Rice is not bad. Good for those who like their food to be lightly flavored. I find it quite enjoyable after all the power Dim Sum items.
Yong Chow Fried Rice // $11
Shrimp Dumplings // $5
Pork Shrimp Dumplings // $4.80
Shrimp Vermicelli Rice Roll // $5.50
Steam Custard Bun // $3.90 (FTW)*
Steam Pork Soup Dumpling // $4.80
All items excluding service and GST charge.
*Mou Tak Teng in Cantonese literally means – cannot resist. In modern language or more local usage is like – Winner, or FTW or expression of damn good lah. Usually used in terms of food or desirable items.
e.g. The body massage was Mou Tak Teng ah….must go again.
